PURPOSE: To provide a color image forming device capable of preventing color slurring without improving the dimensional accuracy and the attaching accuracy of an image carrying belt and a driving roll, capable of preventing the color slurring even in the case of thermal expansion and contraction, and capable of preventing the color slurring while restraining a cost from increasing. CONSTITUTION: This device is constituted of a belt reference position detecting sensor 22 detecting the reference position of an intermediate transferring belt 15, a belt reference position detecting sensor 17A detecting the reference position of the driving roll 17, a phase shift detecting device 29 detecting the phase deviation of the rotating position of the belt 15 and the roll 17 based on the detection timing of both detected reference positions, and a slip amount calculating device 30 and a driving roll controller 31 decreasing the phase, shift by advancing and receding for example, slipping the rotating position of the belt 15 and the roll 17 based on the phase deviation. |
