PURPOSE: To securely recover scraped toner by bringing the free end of the scraper of a magnetic carrying device which receives toner falling from a cleaning member and carries it into close-contact with a non-magnetic sleeve by a magnetic force. CONSTITUTION: The magnetic carrying device 20 is equipped with the non- magnetic sleeve 21 extending over the entire length of a photosensitive drum 1, and a fixed magnetic means arranged inside the sleeve. The magnetic pole 22a of the magnetic means 22 attracts toner falling between the photosensitive drum 1 and itself, and carries it upward as the sleeve 21 rotates. The free end of the scraper 23 consisting of a magnetic, thin plate material is in close- contact with the periphery of the sleeve 21 by the magnetic force of the magnetic pole 22c, and scrapes off toner. On the other hand, the lower wall 24 of a cleaner 10 is curved along the periphery of the sleeve 21 to prevent toner accumulation, also toner which has fallen under the sleeve 21 is caused to re- stick to the surface of the sleeve 21 by the magnetic forces of the magnetic poles 22d-22f, and it is then scraped off by means of the scraper 23 to be recovered by means of an exhaust carrying device 26. |
