摘要 PURPOSE: To eliminate a dead angle part where observation is impossible in a celestial body and to observe all the parts of the celestial body by directly detecting the angle of a lens barrel itself by means of a sensor unit. CONSTITUTION: The sensor unit S attached to the lower part of the lens barrel 2 of this astronomical telescope 1 has a structure where a ball 6 is housed in a container 5. A cover 7 forming the 'upper surface' of the container 5 is provided with a sensing part 8, and a circular base 9 and a conical inner surface 10 are formed inside the container 5. The sensor unit S is attached to the lower part of the lens barrel 2 in a laterally facing state where a center axis X is made parallel with the optical axis Y of the lens barrel 2. Therefore, as the lens barrel 2 is made near to a horizontal state, the sensor unit S is similarly near to the horizontal state, then the ball 6 rolls to the cover 7 side on the conical inner surface 10. When the ball 6 comes into contact with the cover 7, the sensing part 8 senses it and the sensor unit S is turned on, then the driving part of a declination axisαis controlled so as not to turn the lens barrel 2 downward from the horizontal state.
