PURPOSE: To detect the joint position of a cylindrical object stably without being affected by noise. CONSTITUTION: The joint detecting device for cylindrical object is provided with a TV camera 2 as an image pickup means to pick up image of cylindrical pipe 1 which is a cylindrical object to be inspected, a pre-processing part 6 to binarize a picked up image, a picture element number compensation part 5 to output the detected image by compensating the number of picture elements in a binary image, and a joint detecting part 7 to detect a joint part 1A by a difference in the number of picture elements in a window by duplicating a window of a specified width on the image to be inspected. |
