<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a developer excellent in electrostatic chargeability and stability of a charged state, not causing the scattering of the toner at the time of copying, ensuring sufficiently high transfer efficiency and stably giving a copied image having the required density over a long time. CONSTITUTION: This two-component developer contains a toner and a carrier. The toner contains toner particles contg. a fixing resin and magnetic powder dispersed in the resin. The fixing resin is made of a compsn. contg. a resin having anionic polar groups, the magnetic powder is contained by a prescribed amt. in the toner particles, and 1st spacer particles having a prescribed particle diameter and 2nd spacer particles having a prescribed particle diameter have been stuck to the surfaces of the toner particles. The particles of the carrier have core particles and coating layers coating the core particles. The core particles have recesses in the surfaces and are made of a specified magnetic material. The coating layers are made of a resin compsn. contg. a thermosetting resin and a thermoplastic resin, fill at least the recesses in the core particles and coat 0.1-60% of the surface area of the core particles.</p> |
