摘要 Air from a receiver (24) passes (25) through various reducing and control valves (26,27,28,29) to a central connector (18) on the actuator bell (5). The bell interior (17) communicates with an annular chamber (11), with radiating passages (10), in the flat circular sled plate (4). A hovering air-flow is emitted downwards through holes (9) in the passages. A sliding ball-joint (13) locates the bell concentrically with the sled, the actuator chamber being completed by a flexible membrane (15), connecting the bell with the sled's raised shoulder (6,16,8). The frame-work (21,22,23,36) supporting the test piece (3), control cabinet (29) and pneumatic system is mounted on a base-plate (7) raised above the bell on three columns (31), incorporating thrust sensors (31).
