RECORDING AND ERASING METHOD FOR OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE: To erase a recorded part in one lot in a short time by irradiating a rewritable optical disk with a recording layer made of a composite film having a specified compsn. and a reflecting layer with light of a specified wavelength. CONSTITUTION: A recording layer and a reflecting layer are laminated on a substrate with a pregroove. The recording layer is made of a composite film consisting of poly(3-butylthiophene) and bis(triethylsiloxy)silicone-tetrakis(decylthio)naphthalocyanine and information is recorded and erased in the recording layer by varying the associated state of the coloring material. When a recorded part recorded by pulse irradiation with laser light is irradiated again with light in the absorption wavelength region of the recording layer, the recorded part can be erased in one lot in a short time without requiring a special device.
