PURPOSE: To provide a cable separator which facilitates the work for separating a self-supporting cable. CONSTITUTION: The cable separator comprises a first sharp part 100a which can be inserted between a cable body and a supporting wire. A first holding part 100b for holding the cable body is formed continuously to the first sharp part 100a thus constituting a cable body holding member 100. Similarly, a supporting wire holding member 200 comprising a second sharp part 200a and a second holding part 200b formed continuously thereto in order to hold the supporting wire is pivoted on a pin 500 together with the cable body holding member 100. A compression spring 300 is interposed between the cable body holding member 100 and the supporting wire holding member 200.
