PURPOSE: To apply highly efficient compression coding to a value corresponding to each form of an abstract syntax definition of the ASN.1 by eliminating problems of the PER. CONSTITUTION: A structure of coded data 1 is made up of three fields, that is, a bit field 3, an octet field 5 in succession to the bit field 3, and an offset field 2 added selectively to a prior part of the bit field 3, and bit data are set to the bit field 3 in the order of definition of the abstract syntax. Octet data are set to the octet field 5 in the order of definition of the abstract syntax, and length information of the field 3 is set to the offset field 2. The syntax is set in the bit field 3 in a way of making padding such that the total length of the offset field i and the bit field 3 is formed to be an integral number of multiple of 8-bit length to obtain a single transfer syntax and the offset field 2 is added when the length of the bit field 3 is not decided by the definition of the abstract syntax. |
