PURPOSE: To lessen the number of parts of an optical sensor installation system and lower the cost. CONSTITUTION: Regarding the optical sensor installation system 39 to install an optical sensor 13 projected in an optical path part 9 in a running guide 31, an insertion hole 33 in which the optical path part 9 is fitted is formed in the running guide 31 and a pair of holding plates 35 parallel to each other and having flexibility are projected out on a face 31b on the opposite side to a medium running face of the running guide 31 while having the insertion hole 33 between them. The optical sensor 13 whose optical path part 9 is fitted in the insertion hole 33 is held based on the restoring force generated at the time when the tip end sides of the holding plates 35 are pushed outward.
