The display panel has a box (1) to house components. The outward facing wall of the box has a flat reinforcing plate (6). A printed circuit (3) is supported inside the box, and light sources (12) positioned outside the box in the overall display panel assembly. Movements (17) for the mechanical display (15) instruments are also inside the box. A flexible printed circuit (5) connects to the printed circuit (3). A printed film (13,14) is placed over the outward facing wall of the box, under the pointers of the mechanical instruments. The shell of the display panel has passages (7,8) formed to guide light from the light sources to the surface of the printed film to illuminate the instrument face. |
