A hydrogen-storing electrode of the present invention, configured by mixing 3 to 20 wt % of metallic cobalt powder with hydrogen absorbing alloy powder made by replacing part of Ni of an alloy shown by the rational formula "MnNi5" with at least one of Al, Fe, Cu, Co, and Mn and filling an alkaline metallic porous body with the mixed powder. A nickel electrode of the present invention, configured by mixing 5 to 15 wt % of cobalt monoxide powder with active material powder in which 2 to 8 wt % of zinc is present in the crystal of spherical nickel hydroxide powder with the internal pore volume of 0.14ml/g or less and filling an alkali-resistant metallic porous body with the mixed powder. A nickel-hydrogen battery of the present invention, configured by winding the above hydrogen-storing electrode and the above nickel electrode at the both sides of a separator, filling the electrodes with potassium hydroxide before sealing, and leaving them as they are for 5 hr or more. <IMAGE> |
