In a radio telephone system described in the present invention, particularly the systems defined in the GSM, DCS1800 and PCS1900 specifications, the network can send and the subscriber device, usually a mobile phone, can receive a control message announcing the arrival of a new call during the desired phases of a presently existing call: connection establishment, information transfer and connection termination.
