Arrangement of spring assisted door handle on ceramic plate

The door handle (12) has a square operating bar (14) and a spiral return spring (16), a plastics washer (18) and a locking washer (20) and a ceramic plate (22). The handle has a porcelain gripping part (24) and a split brass body (26) for taking one end of the bar. The ceramic plate is glazed on its visible face and rough on its hidden face. The plate has a hole (34) passing through it and a coaxial blind housing (38). This housing takes the return spring whose first end is fixed to the square. The blind coaxial housing has at its periphery a radial groove for taking the second end of the return spring.
