The tape (13) can be wound onto two reel hubs (18, 19) and between the reel hubs it is guided by a guide surface (32). This guide surface (32) positions the tape (13) at the location where the head (21) cooperates with the tape (13). To obtain a minimal access time the guide surface (32) is dimensioned so as to minimise the friction between the tape (13) and the guide surface (32).
