Housing for gas-insulated HV line

The housing uses a metal sleeve (2), e.g. of aluminium, enclosed by a spray-coated hardened concrete outer sheath (4). An intermediate plastics separation layer (3) may be inserted between the metal sleeve and the outer sheath. Pref. the separation layer is made of polyethylene or a plastics resin, the outer sheath pref. formed from fibre-reinforced concrete, with radial spacers (6) of an insulating resin supporting the HV line at the centre of the metal sleeve, which is filled with the insulation gas.
