<p>PURPOSE: To provide a production method for a liquid crystal display device for which reduction of contrast caused by a spacer disposed to maintain the gap between substrates is prevented. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device consists of two substrates having electrodes and a liquid crystal material held between the substrates. When spacers 16 to hold the gap between two substrates is distributed in the production of the device, the spacers 16 to be distributed is electrified into positive or negative polarity, while voltage in the opposite polarity to the spacers 16 is applied on a first electrode 12 formed in the area where the spacers are to be arranged on the substrate 10 where the spacers 16 is to be distributed. Voltage in the same polarity as the spacer, 16 is applied on the second electrode 14 formed in the area where no spacer is required on the substrate 10 where the spacers 16 are to be distributed.</p> |
