A control data generating section 73 generates a control data based on the result of calculation and sends it to a channel control section 5 and an incoming trunk control section 6. Thus, when the storage quantity of the storage section 3 and the external storage device 4 exceeds a prescribed limit, the number of assignment of the transmission channel sections 2a is increased only in this case and the information of the storage section 3 is sent quickly. When the capacity of the storage section 3 and the device 4 is recovered by the transmission, the number of assignment of the channel sections 2a is reduced and the number of assignment of the reception channel sections 2b and incoming trunks is increased to ensure the preparation corresponding to the increase in the quantity of communication from a facsimile equipment.
