<p>The present invention relates generally to anti-fungal peptides derived from or based on Domain III (amino acids 142-169) of bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein (BPI) and therapeutic uses of such peptides. The mentioned peptides all have from seven to twelve amino acids and comprise a core sequence of LIQL, IQLF, WLIQL, LIQLF and WLQLF and one or more basic amino acids in the terminal regions. Peptides are either linear or cyclic.</p> |
