The instrument has a housing (2) containing an eccentric drive shaft (3). It includes an instrument holder (6) positioned at an angle to the axis (4) of the drive shaft. The instrument holder is swivelled on an oscillating axis (7) positioned crosswise at right angles to the centre axis (5) of the holder and spaced apart from the axis of the drive shaft. An eccentric pin (8) is positioned on the front end of the drive shaft. It fits into an annular groove (9) in the instrument holder which is elastically pre-tensioned against the front end of the drive shaft.
