METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MAKING A REINFORCED COMPOSITE TUBE

A method for making a composite tube including an extruded cylindrical mandrel (18), and reinforced by helically winding at least one reinforcing strip (66, 66") around the mandrel. The reinforcing strip on the mandrel (18) is subjected to a constant pulling force. Said strip is consolidated downstream from its point of contact with the mandrel by applying local pressure. A device for making such reinforced composite tubes is also disclosed.
