An apparatus and a method for manufacturing a resin structure reinforced with long fibers (1). The resin structure manufactured according to the present invention has a good shape with no cracks or separation of fibers, reduced discoloration, and a reduced amount of carbides. It is manufactured at a good yield. A continuous fiber bundle (1) is impregnated with a resin melt while the fiber bundle is being drawn continuously, after which the continuous fiber bundle into which a resin melt has been impregnated is shaped with a shaping means (11) so as to have a cross section of an intended final product. A cutting step follows in a downstream section (8). The shaping means comprises a plurality of rolls (11a,11b) each having grooves formed on the outer periphery thereof for receiving the continuous fiber bundle impregnated with a resin melt, the grooves and the rolls being arranged such that the rolls are placed, in an alternating manner, at upper and lower positions with respect to the fiber bundle which is being drawn, and the projection of the grooves of the rolls onto the elevation plane perpendicular to the running direction of the fiber bundle forms a shape of the cross section of the intended final product. <IMAGE> |
