PRESSURE SLIP CASTING METHOD FOR FORSTERITE CERAMICS

PURPOSE: To realize the vestiture of favorable formability and mold retention in the pressure slip casting method of forsterite ceramics compact having compli cated shape. CONSTITUTION: Slurry, which is prepared by adding the outer percentage of 20-35 by weight of water to the mixture of 90-99wt.% of forsterite powder consisting of particles having the average particles having the average particle diameter of 20μm or less and 1-10wt.% of clay having the percentage of water retention of 1wt.% or more, is cast under pressure in the desired mold so as to bond the forsterite powder particles to each other through the above- mentioned clay particles in order to allow to obtain cast layer having the above- mentioned characteristics.
