PURPOSE: To obtain a sterilization effect equal to or more than that of chlorine by dividing the total amount of ozone to be used to sterilize seawater into fractions, adding fractional ozone in the vicinity of a seawater intake and adding another fraction in the rear flow of a filter, and adding a reductant into seawater in the front flow of reverse osmosis equipment. CONSTITUTION: In the desalination of seawater, primary ozone of half the total amount of ozone necessary to get a desired sterilization effect is supplied to a water intake line in the vicinity of an intake from an ozone generator 11. Next, seawater sterilized by ozone is taken up by an intake pump 1, passed through a filter 2, stored temporarily in a tank 3, taken up by a filtrate pump 4, and sterilized with secondary ozone supplied from the ozone generator. Then the filtered seawater, after being passed through an ozone reactor 8, is added with acid such as sulfuric acid to reduce pH and then a reductant such as sodium hydrogen sulfite is added. The seawater, after being pressurized by a pressure pump 6, is sent to a reverse osmosis module 7 to be treated by reverse osmosis to obtain plain water and concentrated water. |
