PURPOSE: To provide a vest or waist coat-like air bag device effective for protecting a person riding on a vehicle, small-sized ship, horse or the like. CONSTITUTION: An inflator 2, driving pipe 3 and exhaust pipe 4 are disposed in a vest or waist coat-like air bag body 1. The tip of the driving pipe 3 interlocked with the inflator 2 provides a connecting means connected to a driving key or harness of a dashboard. When a rider is abruptly released and thrown away from a vehicle, samll-sized ship, horse or the like, the inflator 2 is fired by the tension of the driving pipe 3 to generate nitrogen gas and inflate the air bag body already attached to the rider so that the driving pipe 3 is released from the inflator 2 while the inflator 2 is driven. |
