<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an amino acid ester having an increased degree of freedom of measurement because of possibility of detection of leukocyte, esterase or protease by treating leukocyte, esterase or protease with the amino acid ester to generate formaldehyde and detecting the formaldehyde. CONSTITUTION: This amino acid ester of the general formula X-Z-CH2 -O-A-B or X'-(CH2 )n -Z-CH2 -O-A-B [Z is oxygen atom or sulfur atom; X is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group; X' is a substituted or nonsubstituted aromatic group, a heterocyclic group or a hydrocarbon group; A is a group derived from an amino acid or a peptide compound; B is an amino-protecting group in the group A; (n) is an integer of 0-8] The amino acid ester can be used for detecting leukocyte, esterase or protease in a liquid specimen.</p> |
