<p>PURPOSE: To realize a valve rest device of an engine, wherein processing of an oil passage can be easily performed in a multiple-cylinder engine, and the structure of the oil passage is simple. CONSTITUTION: In a valve rest device of an engine wherein at least one part of a plurality of valves 11a to 11c is held in the closing position according to the engine operating state, a cam carrier 20 for jorunaling a cam shaft 16 is so formed as to be separated from a cylinder head 4, and lifter guide holes 20a, 20c are formed on the cam carrier 20, and valve lifters 21a, 21c for transmitting the operation of the cam shaft to a valve shaft are slidably inserted and arranged into the lifter guide holes 20a, 20c. And hydraulically driven-type valve rest mechanisms 18a, 18b are arranged in the valve lifters 21a, 21c, and oil passages 33d, 33e for supplying oil pressure to the valve rest mechanisms 18a, 18b are formed on the cam carrier 20.</p> |
