PURPOSE: To provide a well-drilling wire rope imparted with high abrasion resistance and flexural fatigue characteristics without changing the structure of conventional wire rope. CONSTITUTION: This well-drilling wire rope is a 7×7+6×S(19) regular lay wire rope. The diameter of the element wire constituting the strand (b) is increased to give the diameter of the rope to be larger than the nominal diameter by 4% and the twisting pitch of the strand (b) is selected to be 5.5-6.0 times the strand diameter.
