PURPOSE: To obtain a cosmetic excellent in use feeling and stability by formulating insolubilized collagen beads in an emulsion-based cosmetic such as suspended cosmetic, cream or milky lotion. CONSTITUTION: Firstly, collagen or a derivative therefrom is prepared into collagen beads which are then insolubilized by a crosslinking agent, ultraviolet light orγ-ray irradiation, etc. The resultant collagen beads are then formulated at 0.1-40 (pref. 1.0-30)wt.% in an emulsion-based cosmetic stock such as suspended face lotion, cream or milky lotion to obtain the objective cosmetic. This cosmetic, because of high thermal stability of the collagen, is improved in use feeling. Especially, the particle diameter of the collagen beads is regulated to 0.1-50μm. In addition, water or an active ingredient is included in the beads, being sustainedly released, resulting in a stable, equilibrium state eventually.
