PURPOSE: To obtain an ink jet recording apparatus exhibiting an excellent water resistance even in an ordinary paper and having no ooze among colors during color recording by providing an ink tank and treating liquid tank independently relative to respective ink jet recording heads. CONSTITUTION: Numeral references 15a-15c show ink supply ports for supplying ink to respective ink jet recording heads 15. The Ink supply port 15a is for yellow, 15b for Magenta, and 15c for cyan. Also. a treating liquid supply port 15d is provided for making dye in ink Insoluble with respect to a solvent. Numeral references 16a-16c denotes ink tanks for supplying ink to the ink jet recording head. In addition, a treating liquid tank 16d for supplying a treating liquid is provided for making dye in ink insoluble with respect to the solvent. The treating liquid tank 16d is large in its volume and also large in tank width relative to the ink tanks 16a-16c. |
