PURPOSE: To obtain conductive polymer gel particles which contain a high- molecular gelling agent and an electrolyte absorbed thereby, have improved resistances to heat, weather, and chemicals, do not exhibit the degradation in electrical properties and collapse in shape due to drying over a long term, and thus have an improved aging stability by incorporating a lipophilic component into the polymer chain of the gelling agent. CONSTITUTION: A gelling agent is prepd. e.g. by polymerizing a monomer mixture contg. hydrophilic and lipophilic polymerizable monomers and a water-sol. or hydrophilic copolymerizable cross-linker. This base resin is a polymer having a three-dimensional network structure and mainly comprising acrylic ester units and salt units such as acrylate units. An alkali metal salt, such as a sodium salt, is used as the salt. An unsatd. monocarboxylic acid, such as acrylic acid, or its ester is used as the monomer. An example of the compolymerizable cross-linker used for preparing the gelling agent is N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide. |
