<p>PURPOSE: To manufacture a machine element part capable of reducing cost with a rapid heat treatment and easily obtaining a desired mechanical property for the part having various kinds of sizes and shapes, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. CONSTITUTION: This machine element part is made of a steel containing 0.6-0.9wt.% C and a hardened layer is formed on the surface part and a non- hardened part is formed in the inner part and also, the surface part liable to form the shape edge has the dull shape to quenching crack. Further, in the manufacturing method of the machine element part, the steel containing 0.6-0.9wt.% C is worked to a prescribed shape and the induction hardening is applied to the worked material, and after forming the hardened layer on the surface of the worked material, this worked material is tempered. Further, at the time of working to the prescribed shape, the surface part forming the sharp edge is worked into the dull shape.</p> |
