<p>PURPOSE: To provide the speed detector for a rolled stock capable of improving control accuracy even for thickness control, etc., in which speed control is used. CONSTITUTION: Load detecting means (13 and 14) detecting a vertical load applied in the rolling down direction of a rolled stock and a horizontal load applied in the rolling direction of the rolled stock to a rolled roll, and first calculating means (15 and 16) calculating the neutral angle of a rolling mill according to the detected vertical load and the horizontal load, further calculating the forward slip of the rolled stock according to this neutral angle are provided. A rolling roll speed detecting means (17) detecting the rotational speed of the rolling roll, a second calculating means (18) calculating the peripheral speed of the rolling roll according to the detected rotational speed, and a third calculating means (19) calculating the speed of the rolled stock on the outlet side of the rolling mill according to the calculated forward slip and the peripheral speed of the rolling roll are provided.</p> |
