PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester with very small amounts of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde and to obtain a molded product therefrom with very little mold stain during injection molding. CONSTITUTION: This polyester molded product is obtained by preparing a polyester (a) by liquid phase polycondensation between a dicarboxylic acid and a dlhydroxy compound, preparing a polyester (b) with an intrinsic viscosity[η] of 0.5-1.4dl/g by solid phase polycondensation of the polyester (a), immersing the polyester (b) in water or bringing it into contact with steam to produce a polyester (c), and drying and then melting the polyester (c) in an inert gas atmosphere and injection-molding thereof. The formaldehyde and acetaldehyde contents of the polyester molded product are <=1.50ppm and <=10ppm, respectively. Other versions of this molded product such a a bottle-forming preform or bottle can also be obtained by this method. |
