The stirrer consists of a square-section metal rod (5) which passes through a cylinder (13) riveted to the lid (1) of a fondue pan. The upper end of the rod is fitted to a battery-powered electric motor, while its lower end has a series of bends (8-11) producing a figure-eight movement as it rotates. The lowest part of the rod is situated some 2 mm above the bottom of the fondue pan. The rod has two annular recesses (6, 7) where it passes through the cylinder (13), while the hole through it has a diameter one millimetre longer than the rod's diagonal measurement.
