<p>A recording medium device such that a magnetic tape for recording information signal is housed in a cartridge. The recording medium device is provided with the cartridge housing a magnetic tape, contact terminals which are provided on the cartridge, face outward and serve as electrical contacts with a driver, and a shutter member which is provided to the cartridge and opens/closes the contact terminals. The contact terminals face outward through an opening made in the outer wall of the cartridge. When the cartridge is not loaded in the driver, the shutter member closes the opening of the cartridge and, when the cartridge main body is loaded in the driver, the member opens the opening so that the contact terminals can face outward. The shutter member is always pressed in the direction in which the member closes the opening by means of a pressing member. Since the contact terminals of this recording medium device are covered with the shutter member, adhesion of dust, etc., to the terminals is prevented and the terminals are reliably protected.</p> |
