DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR THE NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF THE CORE SHROUD OF BOILING WATER REACTOR INSTALLATIONS

In boiling water nuclear reactor installations there are often jet pumps (8) in an annular space (6) between the core shroud and a reactor pressure vessel (4) surrounding it externally. Test heads have to be introduced into said annular space (2) during the inspection of the core shroud (2) for cracking. According to the invention, said test heads can be moved horizontally on a telescopic jib (10) shaped to fit the curvature of the core shroud and said jib (10) is supported on a vertical guide pillar (14) and can be positioned thereby between the jet pumps (8) on a weld seam (261-263) in the core shroud.
