IC engine exhaust silencer with integrated exhaust purifying stage

The silencer has a housing divided into individual chambers by partitions, and at last one exhaust inlet and outlet line. The exhaust purifying stage is located in the inlet section of the silencer and comprises a catalytically effective monolith. The monolith (10) holder of an inlet funnel (20), jacket (19), and an outlet funnel (11) is arranged for coupling to the silencer jacket (5). Pref. the inlet funnel in the monolith surrounding section is deformed into a radially outwards pointing flange, forming an inlet bottom (8) of the silencer.
