On turning the locking member (4) from a first to a second position on a common axis (5), the lid (2) and sealing ring (3) are secured to the pot (1) so as to form a pressure-proof joint. On turning the member in the reverse direction it is automatically and detachably coupled to the lid. In the release position, the member can be held detachably to the lid and so that it cannot turn. Holding can be by two bosses spaced apart and protruding outwards, or a bayonet coupling. There can also be two portions bent over inwards and spaced apart on the edge (11) of the member, and which engage under the outer edge of the pot in the locked position.
