The switch has a housing provided by an upper part (1) and a socket part (2), the latter containing stationary electrical contacts, with one end projecting from the socket and the other end cooperating with a movable contact elements of a rotary switch piece (3), displaced between defined switch positions corresponding to respective functions. The operating mechanism for the switch piece has a cam profile with a curve section (7) having a ratchet notch (8) defining an initial switch piece position, a second ratchet notch offset from the first by between 25 and 90 degrees and a third ratchet notch offset by a further 25 degrees, with compression successive of a return spring (6) by the rotation of the cam profile.
