The invention relates to an installation and a method for preventing pulp from accumulating on top of a scraper bar. In the arrangement according to the solution there is a scraper 10, the scraper blade 13 of which is arranged on the surface of a roll K in order to scrape this, and in which arrangement the scraper blade 13 is further arranged on a scraper bar 11 in its blade holder 12. The installation comprises a spray pipe 15 in connection with the scraper 10, from which a jet of liquid, advantageously a water jet, is directed against the upper surface 11'.of the scraper bar 11 away from the scraper blade 13, the flow of liquid serving to keep the upper surface 11' of the scraper blade 11 free of pulp and contamination tending to adhere thereto. <IMAGE>
