Use of porphine cationic derivative salts as gram-negative bacteria photosensitizers. These salts are of general formula (I) in which R1, R2, R3, R4, which are the same or different, are a hydrogen atom, a phenyl radical or a radical having one of the formulas (i) (ii), and (iii); X<-> is a monovalent anion with the proviso that one at least of the R1, R2, R3 or R4 radicals is a radical of formula (i) to (iii) except for R1, R2, R3 and R4, which are the same and are the radical of formula (i). Contamination of the substrate can be reduced by treating the substrate with a salt of formula (I) and then subjecting it to light irradiation. |
