An electrical motor has a rotor assembly with an in line commutator (10) that has formed hooks (31) that provide a connection between the windings of the rotor (32) and the segments of the commutator. The motor core is fixed on a drive spindle and an insulating sleeve (12) is fitted over the end section. The insulator is produced of a synthetic material and has sections that fit in the coil winding grooves of the core. The commutator main body has a core of insulation material and is shaped with a part serrated bore that locates on a projecting stem from the rotor.
