Telescopic system comprised of modules, of which the essential element is a screw (56) and nut (57) system. According to the invention, a mechanical transmission (58, 60, 64 to 68) imposes rotations with a ratio which is constant and different from one between a screw and the nut, and therefore a predetermined translation of the screw for a predetermined rotation of the nut. The screw is linked to the nut of the following stage. The simultaneous and uniform extension of all the modules of the system is thus controlled.
