Auxiliary drive for marine ship with diesel main engine driving propeller via shaft system

The auxiliary drive contains a retrospectively fitted diesel engine (4) with a generator (5) for driving an electric motor (7) which can be coupled via a transmission with an elastic coupling (10) and a clutch (9) to the shaft system (2) to enhance the drive power of the main engine (1). The main diesel engine (1), electric motor (7), auxiliary engine (4) and generator (5) can be coupled together and controlled by a control unit (11). The electric motor with the transmission can be connected to the flywheel of the main engine.
