<p>A windscreen wiper assembly for motor vehicles is provided with an aerodynamic deflector (7), mounted on the wiper arm (3), to prevent the floating up of the wiper blade during high speed travel. The wiper arm (3) is elongated (3f) such that the arm (3) extends longitudinally beyond the blade connection (5a), ie beyond the position at which the wiper blade assembly (5) is pivotally connected to the arm (3). The deflector (7) is attached to the wiper arm (3) and arm extension (3f) at positions (8,3h) on either side of the blade connection (5a).
