The note or card is prepd. with a hybrid construction incorporating wires, strips or platelets of e.g. Ni-Ti alloy. The wires, strips etc. undergo a transformation from martensitic to austenitic structure when heated to a particular temp. The consequent contraction causes a noticeable increase in the force necessary for deformation of the structure in the heated condition. The process is reversible and can be repeated any number of times, while the lifetime of the metallic constituents is practically unlimited. |
