The recovery of nickel using heap leaching

Nickel is recovered from a sulphide ore by heap leaching the ore by subjecting the ore to biological oxidation, separating nickel from iron, into an eluate solution, by solvent extraction or the use of an ion exchange reagent, and electrowinning ferronickel from the eluate solution.
