<p>An index-feed machining system comprises a plurality of machining units which are equally spaced from each other along the workpiece-feeding direction. Within each machining unit a cassette (308) including machining means (73,79) for performing a machining process is detachably mounted. At least one of said cassettes (308) is provided with a main driving means (81, 83, 84) including a fluid-pressure cylinder (81) for driving the machining means (73, 79) and an auxiliary driving means (306, 307) for increasing the driving power of the main driving means (81, 83, 84) is provided in at least one of said machining units wherein said at least one cassette (308) is mounted. <MATH></p> |
