PURPOSE: To eliminate the use of a dedicated device for measuring arteriosclerosis, and avoid the extension of an inspection time or an increase in facility cost by applying the constitution that parameters in relation to the measurement of blood pressure and arteriosclerosis can be displayed concurrently via the use of a simple device. CONSTITUTION: An input means 7 enters a calibration blood pressure value, and a detection section 2 detects a time interval detection reference point on the pulse wave of an aorta. Furthermore, a detection section 5 detects the pulse wave of a peripheral blood vessel appearing behind the pulse wave of the aorta. Also, CPU 1 measures a pulse wave propagation time, based on each detection output from the sections 2 and 5. Then, the CPU 1 calculates a plurality of parameter values α and β using a plurality of blood pressure values and pulsation propagation times. On the other hand, a display 9 shows the parameter values α as index values for the blood pressure value and the arteriosclerosis. As a result, the arteriosclerosis can be easily measured even at home. |
